Dry White Wine from Valencia
from:Valencia is a region of Spain that is famous for its wine production. The reason that this area has been so successful in the production of dry white wine is that the overall climate and soil provide the perfect conditions for the production of wines of this type. Much of the Valencian dry white wine is exported and can be seen on the wine lists in many countries. White grapes are used to make dry white wine.
When You Should Choose a Dry White Wine
Dry white wines tend to be lighter in flavour, and is a good accompaniment to white meat and fish dishes. Equally it will do justice to many different entrees, and allow you to change to red wine for the main part of the meal. White wines should always be drunk before red during the course of the meal to enable the fullest flavours to be appreciated. In a number of kitchens, dry white wine is added to food as the acidity adds some excellent flavouring to foods being cooked.
Caring for your Dry White Wine
In all cases, dry white wine needs to be served and kept well chilled. Taken straight from the refrigerator before serving, it is important that the bottle does not become warm. This can be accomplished by putting the bottle in a bucket of ice during the meal. When the wine is served in this way you will experience the best flavours of the wine.
Most modern dry white wines are sold for immediate consumption and cannot be stored for more than a few years. Wine can go bad, and an old wine is not a pleasant experience.
Another way to get a taste of the Valencia dry white wine is to indulge in a vacation to this area, and eat in one of Valencia's many fine restaurants where you can sample the white wines available. You could also attend the Spanish Wine Festival, which is known as La Rioja Wine Festival, where you could also sample this and many other wines. Of course, there are also many other wine fiestas held in this area throughout the year, such as the La Tomatina Fiesta and the Fiesta Fallas de San Jose And these present plenty of opportunities abound to get a taste of the delightful wines of this region.
